BID MANAGEMENT PRE-QUALIFICATIONS FOR KEY TRADES
A review of the plans and specifications will be completed to determine key trades that require a level of skill that will require pre-qualification before bid. This evaluation will be project specific. Depending on the complexity of the task specialty subcontractors will be required to submit qualification questionnaires with additional detail at bid time. Regardless of the skill level required, all subcontracts will be required to submit a general qualification statement at bid time.
BID MANAGEMENT BID POOL MANAGEMENT
Crutcho maintains a list of several thousand subcontractors. The bid will be published and advertised in the appropriate publications and posted in all the plan rooms for public viewing. Email bid invites will be sent to subcontractors in our bid pool list. Phone calls are made to known select vendors to solicit their participation. Over the course of its history Crutcho has developed a loyal following of quality subcontractors. We bring this following to the owner as a major benefit to the project.
BID MANAGEMENT COORDINATION OF BID PACKAGES
A review of the specifications will be conducted, and the big packages arranged in a logical manner. Detailed scope sheets for each trade will be prepared. The subcontractor will be tied to the general conditions, contract completion and special conditions of the project. Gaps will be identified so the scopes of each subcontractor fits with the scope of all others. This is an important process to eliminate unwanted change orders later. The goal is to have all scopes fit seamlessly together.
BID MANAGEMENT BID EVALUATION
The bids will be reviewed first for price, second the low bidder’s reference and validity of bond will be checked. The bidder will be compared to pre-qualifications that were outlined in the specifications. If the low bidder does not meet the criteria, the second bidder will be evaluated. At the end of this process a recommendation will be made of award or rejection.
